(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 3 – Pope Francis had two episodes of acute respiratory failure Monday a he battles pneumonia in a Rome hospital, the evening medical bulletin from the Vatican said.
“Today, the Holy Father presented two episodes of acute respiratory failure, caused by significant accumulation of endobronchial mucus and consequent bronchospasm”, it said.
“Therefore, two bronchoscopies were performed with the need to aspirate abundant secretions”. (ANSA).
