(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 27 – Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Red Bull Bora), one of the pre-tour favourites, on Tuesday withdrew from the Giro d’Italia after a string of falls, the last one Tuesday in heavy rain on the 16th stage in the northern Italian mountains.
Roglic was was 10th in the general classification and was involved in a series of falls, the last one today in the rain, 95 kilometers from the finish of the 16th stage.
Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz, fourth in the general classification, was also involved in Roglic’s fall, but he managed to restart. (ANSA).
