(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 4 – Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called on Hamas to release the Israeli hostages it still holds following the October 7 attacks after the group released a video of a skeletally thin captive at the weekend.
“The videos of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza confirm the group’s terrorist nature,” Tajani said.
“All the hostages must be released immediately and unconditionally.
“But Hamas must free the whole Palestinian people, which it has held under blackmail for months.
“It must accept an agreement with Israel, release the hostages, and allow humanitarian aid to be freely distributed in the Strip.
“Israel must stop its indiscriminate attacks, but Hamas must end the constant blackmail it uses to imprison Israelis and two million Palestinians. It’s time for peace in Gaza”. (ANSA).
