Weddings in India are more than just a union of two families, it is filled with grandeur, vibrant outfits, lively music, good food, and a whole lot of drama! However, sometimes, things can even take a darker turn, only to end up with traumatic memories for the families. Something similar happened at a recent wedding in Panipat, Haryana when what should have been a fairytale union turned into a full-blown battlefield, over a lehenga. Yes, you read that right!
The lehenga showdown that ended in a broken wedding
The drama unfolded on February 23, 2025, when a groom from Amritsar arrived in Panipat with his baraat, expecting a seamless wedding ceremony. However, the merry celebrations took a turn for the worse when the bride’s family objected to the lehenga brought by the groom’s side. They insisted that the bride wear a lehenga they had purchased from Chandni Chowk for Rs. 40,000, instead of the one provided by the groom’s family.
