lab innovates Maroc’, the second edition of the project kicks off today

(ANSA) – ROMA, 26 MAG – The ‘Lab innova Maroc’ training course opens today in Agadir, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. At its second edition, the initiative will be opened by the Italian Ambassador to Morocco, Armando Barucco, in the premises of the City of Innovation in Agadir and will end on 29 May.
‘Lab Innova Maroc’, organised by ICE Casablanca – the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade -, is an internationalisation training course dedicated to 22 innovative Moroccan start-ups operating in the circular economy, Agritech and sustainable development sectors. The course is part of the Italian government’s public programme to promote economic and trade relations between Italy and Morocco. The 2025 edition of the Lab Innova project is dedicated for the second time to Morocco, with the aim of strengthening economic and technological cooperation with Italy.
The project aims to improve the technical and management level for the internationalisation of start-ups, to promote the Italy-Morocco partnership and to strengthen the links of the innovation chain between the ecosystems of the two countries. The route also includes a stop in Italy in Rimini at the ECOMONDO International Sustainability Fair (November 2025) to meet Italian ecosystems operating in innovative sectors. The selection phase of the 22 Start-Ups was carried out in collaboration with the Moroccan Agency for Digital Development – ADD, Technopark and StartGate – UM6P, based on the 65 applications received. In addition to the in-person course in Agadir, the training includes a customised tutoring and mentoring phase for each Start-Up remotely and a one-week study trip to Italy (November 2025) that will include B2B meetings with Italian companies, venture capitalists, incubators and business accelerators and a visit to the ECOMONDO international trade fair in Rimini.
The course will be conducted by Italian and Moroccan lecturers and experts and will focus on topics such as international scale-up; innovation and intellectual property protection; customs procedures; preparation of ‘project work’ for internationalisation; professional communication and digital marketing.
