(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 21 – Pope Leo XIV said that he was pained by the situation in Gaza and called for aid to be allowed into the Strip in his first general audience in Saint Peter’s Square on Wednesday.
“The situation in the Gaza Strip is increasingly worrying and painful,” the American pontiff said.
“I renew my appeal to allow the entry of dignified humanitarian aid and to put an end to the hostilities, whose heartbreaking price is paid by the children, elderly, and the sick.” (ANSA).
