(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 27 – Pope Leo XIV on Friday ordained 32 priests from 23 countries in St Peter’s Basilica.
Among the 32 new priests is an Italian: Alberto De Mola, from the diocese of Molfetta-Ruvo-GiovinazzoTerlizzi.
The others are from Sri Lanka, Nigeria (3), Korea (2), Ethiopia, Central Africa (3), India (2), Cameroon, Vietnam, Angola, Ghana, Mexico (4), Brazil, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Australia, Croatia, and Papua New Guinea.
Over 3,600 cardinals, bishops and priests concelebrated the liturgy with the Pontiff.
Leo told the newly ordained priests that they should be builders of unity and peace for the world and that they should not let themselves become fascinated by success and prestige.
