Ranveer Singh In Legal Trouble, Complaint Filed For Mimicking ‘Daiva’ And ‘Hurting Tulu Sentiments’

Amid promotions for his upcoming film, Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh is facing a second legal issue. Earlier, Major Mohit Sharma’s family approached the court, alleging that the film appeared to be made about his life without their consent. Now, a complaint has been filed against the lead star, Ranveer, for reportedly hurting sentiments by his mimicry of Rishabh Shetty’s Daiva scene from the Kantara franchise.

Complaint filed against Ranveer Singh for ‘hurting religious sentiments’ after his mimicry of Daiva from Kantara went viral

Ranveer Singh recently made headlines after he mimicked Rishabh Shetty’s portrayal of Daiva from Kantara Chapter 2 on the stage of the International Film Festival of India, Goa, on November 28, 2025. People found it offensive and mocking of the entity, which is held in divine regard in many communities. Moreover, Ranveer also referred to the Daiva as ‘female ghost’. Although Ranveer apologised later with a social media statement, the issue is far from over.
