This new brand of non-alcohol drinks is based on the French aperitif, only “without the proof”. It is a bittersweet botanical beverage, inspired by the French ethos of pleasure and restraint, meant for sipping slowly pre-dinner. Instead of alcohol, they use natural adaptogens like lion’s mane and I-theanine. You get a stress-soothing result. I drink them all times of day, not just pre-dinner because I like the tastes so much. There are five flavors to choose from. We particularly like the Spritz Italiano (Aperol Spritz) and the Trés Rosé. Only calories per can.

Cambridge Dictionary has just added over 6,000 new words to its dictionary. Experts say that if the words are now in the Cambridge University Dictionary, other dictionaries will incorporate them as well. These are words that have either been invented by or will be used by Gen Alpha, another new term just added. Gen Alpha refers to those born between 2010 and 2024 and they are the current youngest ‘named’ generation.
A sampling of some of the new words being added:
Skibidy (adjective) – A word that can have different meanings such as ‘cool’ or ‘bad’ or can be used with no real meaning. It is a nonsense word that turned into internet slang. Huh?
Delulu (adjective)– Believing things that are not real or true, usually because you choose to. It gained popularity on TikTok and is short for delusional.
Red Flag (noun) – This has the same meaning as it has for earlier generations – a warning sign. Gen Alpha, however, use it mostly to apply to undesirable qualities in a relationship, problematic content, trends or behaviors.
Lewk (noun) – A particular style, fashion, outfit, “serving a lewk”.
Green Flag (noun) – A sign that something is good, willing to proceed. It indicates safety, health , or a successful romantic relationship.
Inspo (noun)– Something, especially something posted on the internet, that gives you ideas or inspiration, especially in the areas of fashion, lifestyle and art.
Stand on business (a verb phrase)– To be serious or firm about something, to handle your responsibilities, to defend your position or take action.
Doom Scroll (verb) – Endlessly scrolling through bad or depressing news or content online.
Mid (adjective) – mediocre, average, not special, kind of disappointing.
Mouse Jiggler (noun)– a device or piece of software used to make it seem as though someone is working when they are not.
Trad (adjective)– A shortening of ‘traditional’. It can mean a preppy, classic American style, someone who values traditional gender roles or lifestyles.
