TV News Advisory: MARATÓN POWERADE MONTERREY 2025

The Association of Runner’s Clubs of Nuevo Leon (La Asociación de Clubes de Corredores de Nuevo León) will celebrate the 2025 edition of their Maratón Powerade Monterrey on the 14th of December, with the support of Embotelladoras Arca, Brooks, and the County of Monterrey as the main sponsors.

The course of the Maratón Powerade Monterrey is certified by a “A” measurer and part of the marathon calendar of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIIMS), member of World Athletics, qualifier for the Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Championships, and a Silver Label of the Council for Responsible Sport.

The participation of 8,350 runners makes his marathon the second largest in the country of México. About 50 percent of runners come from outside of the State of Nuevo Leon. This will represent an economic inflow of 70 million Pesos during the weekend of the Marathon.

The Marathon will count on the participation of 40 Elite runners (between female and male runners) who will be competing for the prize money that could surpass the three million pesos, depending on the times on the winners. The marathon records are 2h 30′ 05″ in the female division, and 2h 08′ 48″ in the male division.

Six percent of the Maratón de Monterrey participants register qualifying times for the Boston Marathon, making the Monterrey Marathon the one with the highest percentage of qualifiers for Boston in México.

The marathon’s start and finish lines will be located within the Fundidora Park in the City of Monterrey, and the route will encompass the counties of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García.

The altitude of Monterrey is 530 meters above sea level, and the expected temperature for the day of the marathon is around 12 degrees at the starting time. Therefore, there is a high probability that the records could be broken this year.
