(ANSA) – ROMA, 21 MAG – The Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, concluded his visit to Helsinki where he introduced the launch event for the next Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Milan Cortina 2026. Present at the event, promoted and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the context of the renewed impetus to ‘sports diplomacy’, was Finland’s Minister for Youth Policy, Sport and Physical Activity, Sandra Bergqvist, as well as some Olympic champions from Italy and Finland. With his Finnish counterpart, Abodi also had a conversation focused on the promotion of major sporting events and their sustainability. In the context of the two-day visit to Helsinki, the Minister, accompanied by the Italian Ambassador to Finland, Nicola Todaro Marescotti, visited Finnish facilities of excellence in the sports sector, including the Helsinki Anti-Doping Laboratory at the Institute for Health and Welfare of Finland and the Olympic Training Centre, as well as the Stadium where the 1952 Helsinki Games were held.
