The UK has launched its first rare earth magnet recycling plant in 25 years, using a novel hydrogen-based process from the University of Birmingham to extract valuable rare earth metals from scrap, reducing import reliance and carbon footprint for EVs and wind turbines.
Located at Tyseley Energy Park, the facility brings sintered magnet production back to the UK, creating a domestic source for these critical materials and boosting green tech supply chains
