I love setting a table, and now there is a museum for what is called “Place-Setting Obsessives” like me. The International Museum of Dinnerware Design opens in Kingston, NY this week. Kingston is not close to me, but it might be a great road trip with my friends. It was founded by a ceramic historian and curator, and it has thousands of “masterpieces of the tabletop genre”.

I’ve been using this Kitchendao 2 in 1 Salad Dressing Shaker Bottle for a couple of weeks and like it. I prefer my own homemade salad dressing to anything store bought but it’s annoying to have to make it fresh every day. This bottle is not too large but holds enough dressing for a couple of weeks. It comes in two sizes and two colors. It is dishwasher safe, has a built-in citrus juicer that is removable, and it is easy to pour. $13.99.

My children love coffee, and now I’m hooked on having a cup of coffee in the morning and have abandoned my routine of a glass of water after I wake up. I was reminded about drinking water again recently. The article said that while our bodies may crave coffee or tea first thing in the morning, those drinks are dehydrating, so drinking a glass of water first will keep your energy up during the day. Mild dehydration can drain energy and if you haven’t had any water since the night before, your body probably needs to be rehydrated before the tea or coffee.
