(ANSA) – ROME, FEB 17 – A reported 5,406 foreigners were forcibly repatriated in 2024, up 14% on the previous year when they were 4,743, according to interior ministry figures released on Monday.
Overall, the number of repatriations are increasing with 4,304 also reported in 2022 and 3,837 in 2021, the interior ministry said.
Interior ministry figures also showed a decrease in migrant arrivals in 2024: 66,317 against 157,651 in 2023 (-58%). (ANSA).
