Oil trade imbalance pushes Q3 merchandise deficit higher; CAD stable at $11.5 billion

​ A widening oil trade imbalance contributed to the deterioration in India’s merchandise trade deficit in the third quarter of fiscal 2024-25, even as the country’s current account deficit (CAD) remained stable at $11.5 billion or 1.1 per cent of GDP, according to a Crisil report.
