(ANSA) – ROME, APR 9 – The Milan bourse closed 2.75% down amid fresh Trump tariff strife Wednesday with the bellwether FTSE-Mib index falling to 32,730 points.
This followed a 2.44% recovery Tuesday after three straight losses since the American president’s announcement of the tariffs last Wednesday.
The escalating trade war between the US and China, among others, battered European stocks again too with London closing 2.92% down, Paris 3.34% off and Frankfurt 3% down.
In New York the Dow Jones was 0.69% down, the Nasdaq 0.28% up and the S&P 500 0.55% down in highly volatile trading. (ANSA).
