At Russe in Bulgaria the exhibition ‘Air Water Earth and Fire

(ANSA) – ROMA, 15 MAG – As part of the ‘Italian Days in Russe’, the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia, in cooperation with the city of Russe, the centre of northern Bulgaria, the ‘Ruse Art’ Society and the ‘Re-Classical’ Agency, present the panel exhibition by artist Adriana Pignatelli Mangoni, which tells a story in images that goes far back in time. The images retrace, ideally, the fiery itinerary of Italy’s currently active volcanoes, which begins with the Campi Flegrei and Vesuvius complex, continues with the largely submarine arc that includes the active volcanoes of Stromboli and Vulcano, and finally ends with Etna. the images attempt to fix fragments of a volcanic landscape in the perception and interpretation of the main travellers, scientists, artists and poets of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, tracing the documents, ‘récits de voyage’ and images of the ‘Grand Tour’.
The project benefits from the curatorial contribution of the Centro Museale delle Scienze Agrarie at the Università degli Studi Federico II in Naples and its director, Prof. Stefano Mazzoleni, who provided the digital materials for the exhibition.
The appointment, from today until 17 May, takes place in the central square in front of the Municipality of Russe.
