The Diplomat by John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb has carved a place in the hearts of cinephiles. A movie, whose real-life inspiration is this intense, needed a cast that could carry it beautifully, and John and Sadia did proper justice to the roles, that brought out the results that are beyond imagination. Two months after its theatrical release, The Diplomat went live on Netflix, and people can’t stop talking about it.Â
Sadia Khateeb shared that The Diplomat’s director didn’t want her to meet Uzma Ahmed
One of the core aspects was Sadia’s acting prowess in the movie. Well, she, in an interview, revealed meeting the real-life individual whose role she played in the movie, which not only lingers in the audience’s minds but also won the critics’ hearts. In an interview with Firstpost, Sadia shared that the director was sure that she and Uzma Ahmed wouldn’t meet until the promotions began. The reason for this was that the director wanted Sadia to be that person even before meeting Uzma through her own experiences. Not only meeting, but also the director even prohibited Sadia from reading books or Google about Uzma. In Sadia’s words:
“So he made sure that I don’t read about her or even google about her. I met her just this month only during the promotional events. And, that was the first time I met her. I was really surprised to see my director’s vision that how he had described her to me was exactly the way she was in real life.”
