Faizan Zaki, a 7th-grade boy from Texas, yet again proved if there is a will, there is a way. For the unversed, Faizan was the fifth runner-up in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee. However, this year, he made an astonishing comeback and won the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee by spelling a French word. Not only did he win the prestigious Scripps Cup on the finale night on May 30, 2025, but Faizan also won a USD 50,000 cash prize.
Who is Faizan Zaki?
Faizan is a resident of Dallas, Texas with origins in Hyderabad. Recently, the 13-year-old Faizan, became the champion of the Scripps National Spelling Bee by spelling a French word, éclaircissement. Faizan is in his 7th grade and is a student at C.M. Rice Middle School in Dallas, Texas. Faizan was born to Arshia Quadri and Zaki Anwar and has a twin sister, Zara Jabeen.
