(ANSA) – ROMA, 16 GIU – The Italian Ambassador to Romania, Alfredo Durante Mangoni, accompanied by Colonel Vincenzo Ingrosso, visited the Italian contingent of Task Force Air – 51st Wing TFA -51 where Italian Air Force aircraft are operating for a four-month NATO mission for Operation Black Storm II to protect Romania’s airspace. The Italian aircraft are on ‘quick reaction alert’ duty, alternating with Romanian Air Force aircraft and integrating into the Nato air defence system to protect the south-east quadrant of the airspace. Together with General Nicolae Creuneu, commander of the ‘Mihail Kogalniceanu’ base, the ambassador and Colonel Ingrosso met the contingent and witnessed the take-off of two Italian fighter jets on a reconnaissance mission.
The day continued at the Constanta Country Clinical Emergency Hospital, where Ambassador Durante Mangoni met the volunteers and medical staff of the Air Force, who for the third year running are involved in a week of clowntherapy in the hospital’s paediatric wards and in a family home. In Romania, as the Italian Embassy in Bucharest explains, laughter therapy is not yet structured. Cooperation is therefore necessary for the training of local specialised personnel.
