Earlier this year, Amaal Malik took to his IG handle and dropped a post, announcing his decision to part ways with his family. While he deleted the post quickly, the flame was already fanned. Following this, Amaal kept up with his silence, while his father, Daboo often spoke about the same. In several interviews, he admitted making some mistakes and took accountability for the pain these incidents might have caused Amaal. He again discussed this in a recent interview, revealing that he had asked a 15-year-old Amaal to earn money.
Daboo Malik talks about being at fault as a father to Amaal Malik
Daboo Malik recently sat for an interview with Faridoon Shahryar, wherein he said that the statement was meant for someone else, and Amaal’s love for his dad is unfathomable. Daboo further stated that the fact that the statement was meant for a certain family member was seen as against the family. Daboo further added that Amaal’s statement, in a way, opened their eyes, and they realised the mistakes they had made over the years. He mentioned that no matter what, he and his wife, Jyoti, have to take the blame, as they were at fault. Stating that sometimes parents can be wrong, Daboo Malik said:
“His statements opened our eyes. We realised the mistakes we made. That is where we solidified our relationship. Sometimes, we aren’t able to say things to our own people, you need a medium to break out when things are really going wrong. And, things were going wrong. Me and Jyoti have to take the blame, we were wrong. Maa baap se galti hosakti hai.”
