Vir Das stepped into the director’s chair for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which was announced on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The film, which sees Aamir Khan as producer, used a unique video style to make the announcement. Instead of just sharing a teaser, the makers dropped a short skit in which Aamir Khan is seen beating up Vir Das for making a ‘flop’ spy film in his directorial debut. The hilarious video also sees Vir being asked to stick to stand-up comedy and being rebuked for turning into an ‘item girl’.Â

The video begins with Aamir Khan beating up Vir Das. However, soon we are taken back in time where the actor is already frustrated with the comic, Vir, about making a ‘flop film’. He calls him out for making a film that lacks decent action or a love track. Aamir further tells Vir to stick with stand-up as filmmaking is out of his zone. Aamir further mentions there’s no action in the film, to which Vir claims there was, but Aamir interrupts him, saying that Vir being beaten up the entire film wasn’t action.
