According to a report from ESPN on Tuesday night, 2027 four-star quarterback Peter Bourque has decommitted from the Michigan Wolverines.

Bourque committed to Michigan back in August when the old coaching staff was still in town. Former offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey was his primary recruiter, and he played a huge role in the Wolverines landing his commitment in the first place.

In an interview with Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong ($), Bourque explained why he chose to decommit.

“Just uncertainty I’d say,” Bourque said. “I want to make sure I’m making the best decision. I’m going to take some visits this spring. I’m not sure where. I think it’s the right thing to do to be decommitted for that.”

Bourque noted that schools like Georgia, Penn State, Virginia Tech and others are in the mix. It does not sound like Michigan will be a factor moving forward.

A top-100 overall player on the 247Sports composite, Bourque is ranked as the No. 6 quarterback and No. 86 overall player in the class.

Michigan now has three committed prospects in the 2027 class — four-star edge rusher Recarder Kitchen, three-star offensive lineman Louis Esposito and three-star offensive lineman Tristan Dare.
