Table Traditions in Venice
In a traditional Venetian setting, we suggest starting your meal with a glass of Prosecco from the nearby hills of Valdobbiadene. We recommend against asking for “Italian” food in general, as our cuisine is specifically Venetian and lagoon-based. It is common for the waiter to recite the daily specials rather than providing a printed menu in the most authentic spots. Always check the blackboard outside for the “Piatto del Giorno,” which represents the freshest ingredients available that day.
