Dolly Parton cancels her Las Vegas residency, which had been rescheduled for September, citing her previously announced health concerns.
Dolly Parton’s Las Vegas residency has been cancelled, after originally being rescheduled for September. The legendary singer cited her previously reported health issues, though she added that she’s been “responding really well” to treatment and medications. Due to dizziness associated with her treatments, Parton said she’s been “a little swimmy-headed.”
“And of course, I can’t be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, and such on five-inch heels—and you know that I’m going to be wearing them,” Dolly said in a video posted to social media. “Not to mention all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, my big… uh, personality. Lord, those—that would make anybody swimmy-headed!”
Originally, Dolly Parton was scheduled to perform six shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in December 2025, which were announced in June last year. Those shows were rescheduled for September 2026 due to the star’s health concerns. But now, she says it will be some time before she is ready to return to the stage.
“I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas,” she added. “Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time, […] and I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”
“Thank you for standing by me and showing me so much love and support over the past year,” she wrote in the video’s caption. “I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way! See you soon.”
Dolly’s residency would have been her first series of shows in a decade, since her “Pure & Simple” tour ended in 2016. In March, she made her first major appearance since announcing her health issues to give the keynote address at Dollywood during the park’s 41st anniversary celebration.
In January, the star turned 80 and released a new live version of the song “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.” This version featured several celebrity guests, including Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Reba McEntire, Queen Latifah, and David Foster.
