Unchained at Last: Neglected Dogs Finally Get Care They Need to Survive and Thrive

We shared a heartbreaking case with you about dozens of injured and neglected dogs found chained outside without proper food and shelter in Alabama and asked for your help.

You delivered. Thanks to your generous donations all of the dogs received veterinary care and made a full recovery.

Unchained at Last: Neglected Dogs Finally Get Care They Need to Survive and Thrive

Dogs like Kane who was emaciated with a tumor hanging off his neck and positive for heartworm disease needed emergency care to survive. He has undergone surgery and treatment for heartworms and has regained his strength on nutritious food.

He is just one of dozens who needed surgery, heartworm treatment, and ongoing care. With your support, the dogs were able to heal and slowly start to trust humans again.

Remember the senior dog, Fancy? She was suffering from demodex mange, multiple tumors, hip dysplasia, and heartworm disease. For the past few months, she has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments to regain her health and mobility.

Fancy has had a hard life and is hoping to find a loving home to spend her golden years. She has waited so long to experience love and deserves a family of her own. Her caretakers said, “Fancy is the sweetest girl. She just melts in your arms and loves any attention that you pay to her. And she deserves to have a real home. One where she can lay on the couch, play, and enjoy life without chains and barrels.”

All the dogs recovered from years of neglect and are ready to leave the painful past behind them. The happy and healthy dogs are available for adoption at Troy Animal Rescue Project.
