A year and a half after my mom passed away, I decided it was time for a cat. I wanted to come home to someone again.

After looking through various shelter sites, I found Paris. I called the shelter to make sure she was still up for adoption, then dashed down there during my lunch break to meet her.
It was love at first sight.
She climbed onto my lap and purred in my face. I adopted her immediately, but I couldn’t bring her home for a few days.
On Sunday, December 11, 2011, two of my friends and I drove to the shelter to pick her up. The ladies at the shelter told me Paris had cried every day since I left. Three days.
She heard my voice that day, and I could hear her crying as they packed her up in the cardboard carrier.
We drove her home, and she popped out of the box the minute we got into the apartment. She walked through the apartment and made herself at home immediately. She was 2 years and 1 month old to the day.
I was told a man had brought her to the shelter, left the carrier on the counter, and ran away. I don’t know how anyone could have left her at the shelter, but I’m so happy they did.
Paris is a Turkish Angora mix. I believe the “mix” might be Maine Coon.
She “talks” to me every day and bosses me around. She sleeps in bed with me and greets me at the door when I come home from work. And if I’m late, I hear about it!
I have no idea how I lived without her.
She has several “aunties” who come over all the time to see their niece. We all love her so much.
Love you, Paris! Happy 5th birthday, my Scorpio kitty!
