This is Shannon. She is a coonhound and terrier mix, and she is about 6 years old.

In February 2024, I was going through a very lonely and difficult time. I went to the Kenton County Animal Shelter on a mission to adopt a male pit bull, but instead, they introduced me to this love bug.
Shannon had been dropped off at the shelter a year earlier. She was pregnant, heartworm-positive, and had been bounced from one foster family to another.

She wasn’t the dog I went there for, but I was blessed by the dog I left with. I didn’t just save her. She saved me.
