(ANSA) – ROME, SEP 19 – Italy’s new world triple jump silver medallist Andrea Dallavalle said after coming second in the event in Tokyo Friday that he had gone “all in” on the last jump and had achieved “something great”.
“I went all in on the last jump: when I saw the measurement, I said something’s wrong, either they got the measurement wrong or I did something great. Luckily, it was the latter,” were the first words of the 24-year-old from Piacenza.
“That jump embodies all my sacrifices and the setbacks I’ve taken over so many years,” added the Italian athlete.
“But I had my lucky charm in my suitcase, as always: Diabolik’s underwear.” (ANSA).
