Centre-left holds Trento, run-off in Bolzano

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 5 – The centre-left held Trento in Sunday’s local elections in Trentino Alto Adige with incumbent Mayor Franco Ianeselli set for re-election with 54% of the vote with almost all of the ballots counted.
The centre-left Democratic Party maintained its status as the top party in the city, with 24.8% of the vote, while Premier Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) got 14.3% and Matteo Salvini’s League won just 4.3%.
Bolzano, on the other hand, will go to a run-off between the centre-right’s Claudio Corrarati, who won 36.3% in the first round, and the centre-left’s Juri Andriollo, who got 27.3%.
