(ANSA) – ROME, SEP 22 – Pro Gaza marchers staged a deliberate attack on police in Milan Monday leading to the injury of around 60 officers, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said.
“There are people injured” and “even arrested” for the riots at the Gaza protests, he said, referring to about a dozen arrests of protesters.
“The cause of the war conflicts that are affecting the world, especially the Russian-Ukrainian and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, is so noble that it should not be wasted or tarnished by the actions of a few, but numerous, troublemakers, people who are trying to exploit the general sensitivity on this issue as an opportunity to commit the usual acts of pure and simple violence.
“What happened in Milan is clear for all to see: a deliberate, violent attack on the police force,” said Piantedosi. (ANSA).
