Estonia, ‘by 2030 military exports worth 2 billion’

(ANSA) – VILNIUS, 28 APR – By 2030, Estonia intends to increase the volume of exports of military products to a total value of two billion euro annually, increasing the sector’s contribution to two per cent of GDP. This was announced today by Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur when presenting the country’s military industry growth plan for the period 2024-2030.
Pevkur emphasised that the growth of the war industry represents a unique opportunity from which Estonia will gain in security and economic growth.
“Estonia’s geographical location, the expertise of our entrepreneurs and our special ecosystem, characterised by a strong orientation towards technology and innovation, make us a global player,” said Pekur. “The Estonian defence industry must be ready to equip our defence forces, support our allies and export technology to the global market.
