Former Conad executives investigated in graft probe

(ANSA) – ROME, MAR 13 – Bologna prosecutors have put nine people under investigation, including former executives of Italian supermarket group Conad, in a major corruption probe, sources said on Thursday.
The case regards alleged bribery and self-laundering in relation to Conad’s acquisition of the stores that had belonged to French group Auchan before it withdrew from Italy in 2019.
Former Conad CEO Francesco Pugliese and former finance director Mauro Bosio are among the suspects.
Finance police have seized more than 36 million in assets in relation to the probe.
Conad is considered an injured party in the proceedings. (ANSA).
