Italian and Austrian research at the Metternich Palace in Vienna

(ANSA) – VIENNA, 28 APR – On 24 April, on the occasion of the eighth edition of the Italian Research Day in the World, Palazzo Metternich, seat of the Italian Embassy in Vienna, hosted the first ‘In Dialogue with the Association for Scientific Exchanges Austria Italy’ (Assai), a periodic scientific diplomacy event dedicated to the community of Italian researchers and academics in Austria. “The Day of Italian Research in the World offers a valuable opportunity to highlight the prestige and excellence of our scientific ecosystem, which benefits from a very rich heritage of expertise and professionalism recognised worldwide,” stressed the ambassador and honorary president of ASSAI Pugliese in his opening greeting. “Italy’s modernity and avant-garde in the global scientific panorama are particularly appreciated in Austria, which represents a country of great attraction for our community of researchers and academics,” Ambassador Pugliese continued. The event, dedicated to the topic of artificial intelligence in the fields of research and innovation, gave rise to an intense exchange between the participants, moderated by ASSAI President Caterina Vizzardelli and with speeches by Daniele Barolo (PhD Complexity Science Hub Vienna), Nicola Brocca (Postdoc Institut für Fachdidaktik, Universität Innsbruck), Alessandro Coretti (Postdoc Universität Vienna), and Matteo Maffei (Professor TU Wien, Head of Security and Privacy research unit), further demonstrating the intensity and growth prospects of scientific collaborations between Austria and Italy.
