Italy partner at the ongoing India Space Congress in Delhi

(ANSA) – NEW DELHI, 26 GIU – For the second year running, Italy is participating as a partner country in the India Space Congress 2025, currently taking place in New Delhi. “The event marks a strong alignment between Italy’s aerospace tradition and India’s rapidly developing space programme, creating a new impetus for strategic partnerships in the space economy,” stresses Antonietta Baccanari, director of the Ice-Agency Office in New Delhi, which organised Italy’s participation. “Our participation is a declaration of intent: Italy’s aerospace capabilities, from upstream research to downstream applications, fit perfectly with India’s ambitions. Together, we aim to build a cooperation framework that goes beyond technology transfer to promote joint ventures, talent exchange and long-term strategic partnerships.” “The partnership between ISRO and the Italian Space Agency,” recalls Baccanari, “has entered an exciting new phase as part of the Italy-India Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029, which extends the collaboration to Earth observation, heliophysics and lunar science, reflecting a shared vision for a peaceful and sustainable use of space.” The country session reserved for Italy featured speakers representing institutions and industries, from the Italian Space Agency to the Embassy of Italy in India, Leonardo Aerospace, Defence and Security India, ELT Group and Leaf Space LLC. Other Italian companies present at the event were Sicilsat Communications and Zoppas Industries; for all of them the reference point was the Ice-Agenzia and Asi institutional stand, set up to offer Indian operators further opportunities to get to know the Italian space ecosystem.
