Dutch drama about brotherhood, grief, faith, ethics, childhood and hope.
Director’s Vision for ‘Kain’
With this movie i wanted to display the duality of religion and the questions i had within it. I also wanted to shine a light on how a traumatic childhood can shape people, but how it is not a set science, 2 people with the same childhood can turn out very differently. I wanted to give people a message of hope, and show that vulnerability can open your heart and allow you to be childlike again. I wanted to take the audience on a journey through grief and how a cold brotherhood can be warmed again.
