LIVE SHOW | Nendaz Backcountry Invitational 2026
The Nendaz Backcountry Invitational 2026 promises to be an adrenaline-packed showcase of the world’s top freeride skiers, set against the stunning backdrop of Nendaz’s pristine alpine terrain. This exclusive, invitation-only event will see elite athletes tackle untouched powder, steep lines, and daring cliff drops, blending technical mastery with raw creativity. The footage will cover the heart-stopping performances as riders push the limits of what’s possible in backcountry freeriding. Last year Jake Müller managed to land a triple backflip – the first ever triple backflip in a backcountry freeride competition.
Some of the best freeriders and freestylers on the international scene will show up in Nendaz for this event: In the men’s ski category, former Freeride World Tour champion Maxime Chabloz (SUI), last year’s winner Tiemo Rolshoven (GER) as well as Jordane Legal (FRA).
The women’s competition also promises a world-class spectacle, with the presence of three-time freeride world champion Arianna Tricomi (ITA), 2018 Olympian Léa Bouard from France, as well as France’s Astrid Cheylus — who landed the first-ever double backflip in Backcountry Invitational history last year in Nendaz — and Mila De Le Rue.
