One of the top 2027 high school football recruits in the country has finalized his top 10 schools.
Defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou announced his top 10 schools via 247Sports’ Blair Angulo on Friday, which include Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, and USC. Fakatou is set to visit all of these schools during the spring.
Fakatou is a four-star prospect and the seventh-best recruit in California, per 247Sports. He’s also the fifth-best defensive lineman recruit and the No. 60 overall recruit in the country.
Fakatou is also listed as a five-star recruit and the second-best defensive lineman recruit in the nation, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He will get to choose between some of the top college football programs in the country once he completes all of his visits. USC, in particular, will try to get Fakatou to stay home since he’s from Orange, California.
More schools are focusing on their 2027 recruiting classes now that the rosters for the 2026 season are virtually set.
Per Angulo, Ohio State will be Fakatou’s first visit on Mar. 10. Ohio State won the national title during the 2024 college football season before losing to Miami in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals this season.
The Buckeyes came into the CFP as the second seed after losing to the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Hoosiers then went on to win the national title.
It remains to be seen which school Fakatou commits to once he comes to a decision.
