(ANSA) – ROME, SEP 1 – In July 24.217 million people were in employment in Italy, up by 13,000 on June and by 218,000 on the same month in 2024, according to provisional data released by Istat on Monday.
The national statistics agency said the employment rate rose to 62.8%, up 0.1 of a percentage point on June.
It said the unemployment rate fell by 0.3 of a point to 6.0% in July, with the youth jobless rate down by 1.4 points to 18.7%.
Istat said the number of unemployed people was down by 74,000 on June and by 114,000 with respect to July 2024.
The agency said the proportion of people aged 15-64 who are not active on the labour market rose by 0.1 of a point to 33.2% in July. (ANSA).
