The road to Road House 2 has been long. When it was first announced that Doug Liman was planning a Road House reboot with Jake Gyllenhaal, fans weren’t sure of the idea. The Patrick Swayze-led 1989 cult classic is quite beloved, and initially, audiences weren’t very supportive of the idea of a reboot or reimagination of their favorite action flick. However, the movie became a record-breaking success for Amazon Studios, which decided to drop it directly on streaming. Despite the success, Liman wasn’t very happy.
