Quentin Tarantino is as passionate about the film industry as one can be. So, when he says something about someone’s acting and it’s bad, it can feel like a knife twisting in one’s chest. However, his recent comment has stirred an intense reaction from the netizens. But what did he really say that has sparked such a massive wave of backlash?
Quentin Tarantino calls Paul Dano ‘weak sauce’
Quentin Tarantino appeared on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast and listed his twenty favourite movies. When discussing his number 5 pick, the filmmaker said he would give it to Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood. However, it was then that he shared a shocking opinion on Paul Dano’s performance as twins, ‘Paul’ and ‘Eli Sunday.’ Quentin compared Paul’s performance to Daniel Day-Lewis and called the actor a ‘weak sauce’. He was quoted as saying:
“There Will Be Blood would stand a good chance at being no. 1 or 2 if it didn’t have a big, giant flaw in it … and the flaw is Paul Dano. Obviously, it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but it’s also drastically obvious that it’s not a two-hander. [Dano] is weak sauce, man. He is the weak sister.”
