Shelter Bowl 2026: Team Dog vs. Team Cat, Where Everyone Wins

Our annual Shelter Bowl has returned to score nutritious pet food for homeless dogs and cats across the country.

Shelters and rescues are overflowing with pets and do not have enough resources to care for them all. Food is one of the most vital needs and their most significant expense.

With your support, we can help fill the gap, ensuring animals waiting for their forever homes always have a full belly.

Help us reach our goal of providing 1.5 million meals to hungry pets during our annual Shelter Bowl.

Who will you be rooting for this year, Team Cat or Team Dog? In our bowl game everyone wins, so feel free to root for both.

Meet some of the MVPs from each team and read how your donations changed their lives.

Team Cat

Emma & Lacey

These newborn kittens were found alongside their deceased mother trying to nurse. Watonga Community Cat Foundation stepped up to bottle feed them until they were old enough to transition to cat food.

They survived thanks in part to your donations and are living their best lives. The rescue is so grateful for the support and said, “Our rescue is volunteer-run and relies on donations to provide supplies and vet care for all our cats. It is challenging to afford kitten food for the number of young lives that are depending on us. We could not do this without help.”

Charlie Bear

Charlie Bear spent most of his life on the streets of Oklahoma and was doing fine thanks to several community members who feed stray cats. However, one day he decided he was done living on the streets and tried to join resident cats at one of the homes.

It did not go well, so he was taken in by a local rescue. He gets regular meals and loves the wet cat food that your donations helped provide.

Twinkle

This tiny kitten was heard crying for help in the most unusual and dangerous place- inside a car tire. Thankfully, the owner of the vehicle heard the kitten and rescued her before driving off.

Twinkle was taken in by Humane Society of Lawton who received a shipment of donated cat food to feed her and all the other homeless cats. She will get a second chance thanks to your support.

Team Dog

These puppies were found in horrible condition riddled with ticks and with swollen bellies due to worms. They were found alongside the road and would not have survived much longer on their own.

Henryetta Animal Aid pulled over and scooped them up. They brought them to a clinic to start treatment and get some nutritious food in their bellies. These little fighters not only survived thanks to the donated food, but are now thriving.

Coco

This gray-muzzled pup arrived at Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation after his owner passed away. He lives on the sprawling farm with fifty other senior dogs and rescued horses.

Don’t be fooled by his gray face, he still has pep in his step thanks to donated food that provides all the nutrients he needs. He will spend his golden years as all dogs should, loved and with a full belly.

Coco sends “a big THANK YOU for filling his bowl.”

Scooby

Scooby was dumped on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere when he was just a little puppy. Thankfully, he was rescued and brought to Furry Friends Animal Rescue. He arrived underweight and malnourished. He devoured the tasty food the rescue received thanks to your donations.

He is growing big and strong and sends his thanks. “I am barking out very loud the biggest thank you my little heart can do.”

Score a Touchdown for Shelter Pets

Animal shelters need our help now more than ever. Homeless pets arrive daily at the already overcrowded shelters. Adoptions have declined and the shelters are struggling. Your generous donations can help save lives by not only providing nutritious food to shelter pets but allowing shelters to use the money saved on purchasing food to provide much-needed medical care.

Donate today to score food for hungry cats and dogs nationwide.
