(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 23 – Napoli sealed the fourth Serie A title of their history on Friday thanks to a 2-0 home win over Cagliari in the last game of the season.
Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay set the Naples side on their way with a spectacular scissor kick shortly before half time and Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku doubled the lead after the break.
It is Napoli’s second scudetto in three seasons in coach Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge.
They finish the season with 82 points, one more than last season’s champions Inter, who won 2-0 at Como.
Como goalkeeper Pepe Reina was sent off in the 45th minute with a straight red card for a late tackle in the Spaniard’s last game as a pro. (ANSA).
