After four thrilling days of competition, the 12th Longines Beijing Masters came to a glorious conclusion at the Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest). As the first and only international equestrian event to be held at the Bird’s Nest for twelve consecutive years, this year’s edition once again captivated global attention with its world-class athletic performances and distinctive cultural allure. As cheers echoed through the stadium, the Bird’s Nest bore witness to the birth of new champions — and to the harmonious fusion of sport and culture.

World-Class Riders Compete — Where Athletic Excellence Meets Elegance

Over the four days of intense competition, the 12th Longines Beijing Masters welcomed 12 international elite riders— including four former World No. 1 riders who collectively hold  several Olympic medals. Olympic medalists, World Championship winners, and Grand Prix champions all took to the arena, showcasing the perfect blend of skill, focus, and partnership between horse and rider. Every leap over the obstacles embodied international-caliber excellence and the true spirit of equestrian sport.

From the 80cm U14 Rising Stars competition to the 150cm Longines Grand Prix, each event proved thrilling and unpredictable, with spectators’ eyes fixed on every leap as applause and cheers filled the air.

The 140CM International Welcome Class (Grand Prix Qualifier) stood out as one of the key highlights, drawing top riders from around the world. Jos Verlooy from Belgium, riding Kraque Boom d’Avifauna Z, delivered a flawless round with zero penalties in 81.14 seconds, outperforming even Olympic champions to claim victory and realize his dream of triumphing at the Bird’s Nest.

Verlooy shared after his win: “The facilities and organization at the Bird’s Nest are exceptional. Every rider feels perfectly supported to perform at their best.

The grand finale — the 150CM Longines Grand Prix — became the ultimate highlight. Daniel Deusser and Nand van’t Bergske, with a faultless jump-off round in 46.39 seconds, captured the event’s most coveted title, earning thunderous applause from the crowd. Close behind, Jos Verlooy and Kraque Boom d’Avifauna Z delivered outstanding performances that reflected the world-class standard of international equestrian sport.

Chinese Riders on the Rise — Riding with Faith and Brilliance

Chinese riders once again demonstrated impressive skill and potential. From emerging talents who qualified through the “Road to the Bird’s Nest” series to seasoned national team members, more and more Chinese equestrians are showcasing world-class performances on this iconic stage.

In the 150CM competition, several Chinese riders shone brightly:  Xu Hao impressed with a clear round that earned enthusiastic applause;  Li Yaofeng displayed exceptional composure and control; while Zhang Yong, with his seasoned rhythm and experience, once again proved his mastery as a veteran competitor.

Chinese riders achieved breakthroughs across multiple categories:

  • In the 145CM Internaional CompetitionJiang Zhixiang and “Little V” claimed the top spot with a clear round in 70.29 seconds.
  • In the 115CM Challenge Classic Round 1Gong Ziyu riding “You Fan’er” captured victory with a perfect clear round in 61.12 seconds.
  • In the 125CM Champions Classic Round 1, Peng Zixuan and “Julie” dominated with zero penalties in 59.05 seconds.
  • In the 125CM Champions Classic FinalMuhamaiti Dulikun and “Olif of Colors” claimed the win in 36.19 seconds in the jump off, becoming the first winner of Longines watch.
  • In the 135CM EuroHorse Elite ClassicWang Yunjing and “Barcelona” took the crown with a clear round in 64.32 seconds.
Young riders also delivered stellar performances — with names like Dong Yuting and An Jiaqi shining in the 80cm U14 Rising Star and 90cm Open Classic, signaling a fast-emerging new generation for Chinese equestrian sport.

Together, these achievements reaffirm the Longines Beijing Masters’ role not only as a premier sporting stage but also as a vital platform for nurturing Chinese equestrian talent and fostering international exchange.
