(ANSA) – ROME, JAN 18 – Some 11 billion euros worth of Italian exports could be at risk under new tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, artisans, self-employed professionals, and small business group Confartigianato said Saturday.
“Italy would be among the countries most affected by the application of US duties on European products” warned Confartigianato which, with a report from its research office, calculated that the drop in value of Italian exports could exceed 11 billion, reaching up to -16.8% compared to the 66.4 billion of the current level of Italy’s exports to the United States.
“The imposition of additional duties, in the hypotheses of 10% or 20%, would cause our exports to the US to fall, respectively, by 4.3% or even 16.8%”, commented Confartigianato President Marco Granelli. (ANSA).
