(ANSA) – ROME, APR 3 – PierPaolo Bombardieri, the general secretary of the UIL trade union confederation, said Thursday that 60,000 jobs are at risk after President Donald Trump announced hefty tariffs on imports to the United States.
“The duties are a problem for the whole country,” Bombardieri said during a UIL event in Pescara.
“We export goods worth 70 billion euro from Italy and the fallout could be heavy both economically and in terms of employment, especially in some sectors such as the automotive, fashion, mechanics and agribusiness ones.
