Skopje, amb. Palminteri at the Biennale Osten 2024 award ceremony

(ANSA) – SKOPJE, 07 FEB – On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of OSTEN, yesterday evening at the Chifte Amam National Gallery in Skopje, an award ceremony was held for the winning artists of the Osten Biennial 2024, followed by the official opening of the final exhibition of this edition of the Biennial, which included visual arts works – art on paper, painting, objects, installations, photography, video and multimedia works – by 80 artists from all over the world. The Ambassador of Italy, Paolo Palminteri, was invited to attend the event and receive a special prize awarded to Italy for its significant participation in the Osten event.
“I am truly delighted and honoured to take part in the celebration of this important anniversary, 80 years since the founding of the internationally recognised and renowned OSTEN Biennale and Gallery, and to confirm Italy’s traditional support and recognition of this prestigious cultural hub, which brings together artists and works of art from all over the world,” said the Ambassador.
In his address to those present – as reported by the Embassy in a note – Palminteri noted that visual art represents one of the most precious gems of Italy’s extraordinary cultural heritage, as is also demonstrated by the high number of more than 400 works of art by 170 artists that are part of the Italian collection of the Osten Gallery. The Ambassador thanked the Director of Osten, Kornelija Konevska, and the entire Osten team and jury for the precious prize, which he collected on behalf of all the Italian artists.
