Amb. Formosa discusses Ukraine’s integration into the EU market

(ANSA) – ROMA, 07 FEB – The Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, took part in the high-level discussion on Ukraine’s integration into the European Single Market, with a focus on economic recovery and cooperation for industrial development, chaired by Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
In his speech, Ambassador Formosa reiterated Italy’s support for Ukraine’s path of economic integration with the European Union, highlighting the contribution that the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) has made so far to this process and stressing how, while recognising the progress made, it is important to continue along this road to make the most of the potential of economic integration, through further harmonisation of Ukrainian regulations with EU production standards and a wider inclusion of Ukraine in the value chains of the Single Market.
The meeting represented a further step in strengthening the economic dialogue between Ukraine and its European partners. In this context, the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025, to be held in Italy, will be a crucial opportunity to define concrete strategies for Ukraine’s economic future.
