Not a lot of people were expecting to be touched by an MCU work after we learned about all the noise and confusion going on behind the scenes in their television branches, but Loki managed to stick the landing and get us thinking not only about its timey-wimey shenanigans but also about some deeper issues. Now, Loki’s place in the multiverse feels particularly relevant again. Avengers: Doomsdayis set to arrive in theaters on December 18, with the Avengers joining forces with The Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and Earth’s other mightiest superheroes to save the multiverse from Doctor Doom. With the MCU once again putting the fate of the multiverse at the center of its story, one of Loki’s most meaningful moments is worth revisiting.
