Volantio Inc., a frontrunner in AI-powered solutions for boosting revenue and managing capacity in the travel sector, has recently announced the renewal of its partnership with Alaska Air Group, Inc. (“Alaska Airlines”) for another decade. This renewal underscores Alaska Airlines’ ongoing commitment to Volantio’s Re-Commerce Platform.
Since its adoption in 2018, Alaska Airlines has successfully utilized the Re-Commerce Platform from Volantio to pinpoint flights with high demand and craft customized incentives that encourage passengers willing to adjust their travel plans to move to less crowded alternatives. This strategy has proven highly effective, generating upwards of $20 million annually in additional revenue and allowing Alaska Airlines to accommodate more passengers without adding extra flights.
“Volantio’s Re-Commerce platform delivers meaningful revenue to Alaska, and we’re excited to continue our partnership for another ten years,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines. “With Volantio, we’re able to open seats for last-minute travelers who might not have flown with Alaska otherwise, improving profitability while benefiting our guests.”
“Our product creates a triple-win for Alaska: Allowing last-minute travelers to access more peak flights, flexible travelers to earn rewards for shifting their plans and Alaska to generate incremental profit without additional operational or fuel costs,” said Azim Barodawala, co-founder and CEO of Volantio. “We’re thrilled to build on the existing success of our partnership to deliver even greater value in the decade to come.”
Volantio uses AI to turn customer flexibility into higher profits for the travel industry. Its Re-Commerce Platform helps airlines maximize revenue by optimizing peak demand and managing overbooked flights—all while prioritizing the customer experience.
Seattle-based Alaska Air Group, Inc. operates several subsidiaries, including Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Holdings, Inc., Horizon Air, and McGee Air Services.
